The number of WA applications received under the State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP) has now exceeded the available allocations for the 2023-24 program year. WA Migration Services will stop accepting new SNMP applications from close of business on 2 February 2024.

NSW has opened SC 190 & SC 491 nomination … Possible invitation rounds from next week?

NSW has opened up its door for SC 190 and SC 491 nomination process. NSW will focus more on skilled shortage within NSW in areas such as - Health  - Education  - Information and Communication Technology (ICT)  - Infrastructure  and - Agriculture Although NSW focus this program year is on key sectors, high-ranking EOIs submitted in non-priority sectors may also be considered; however, due to the exceptionally high demand and limited places, NSW migration strongly recommend anyone considering NSW nomination to also explore all other migration options available to them.

South Australia has moved to a Registration of Interest (ROI) process to manage strong demand from potential applicants living and working in the state against a limited allocation of nomination places. This means potential applicants must submit a ROI and be invited to apply for state nomination by South Australia. Potential applicants cannot apply for state nomination directly. SC 190 and SC 491 visa nomination process for South Australia are now open, explore your chances.

Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program Update – 5 July 2023

The Migration Tasmania Application Gateway is currently undergoing maintenance and updates and is not currently available to submit Registrations of Interest or lodge applications for nomination. It is expected to be available again by 4pm on Friday 7 July 2023. Only minimal changes have been made to the program for 2023-24. New minimum eligibility requirements and priority attributes will apply to ROIs and applications submitted from 3 July 2023. In cases where new requirements are likely to be beneficial, candidates may wish to withdraw their current ROI and submit a new one once the Gateway is available. Stay tuned for more.

International students can only work 48 hours per fortnight from 1st July 2023 unless exempted.

From 1 July 2023, the Australian Government has re-introduced limits on the number of work hours allowed for student visa holders (subclass 500) studying and working in Australia.  Student visa work restrictions were relaxed throughout the pandemic, and temporarily removed in January 2022. This temporary arrangement ended on 30 June 2023. Please follow these new working conditions and make sure you abide by all visa conditions properly.

485 Post study work visa extension, lists of occupations in demand and related qualifications were developed through a mapping process undertaken by Jobs and Skills Australia and the Department of Education. This document comprises: A list of identified occupations from the 2022 Skills Priority List, and A summary list of eligible qualifications by occupational category. All doctoral studies are considered eligible for the measure, regardless of field of study and so are not listed individually.

ACT (Canberra) State nomination of a Skilled Migration Updates

The next invitation round will be held before 24 October 2022. The ACT has a fixed number of nomination places available each month (pro-rata against the annual allocation). The highest ranked Matrix in each occupation were invited to apply for ACT nomination. The cut‑off for selection depended on the remaining monthly allocation, the date and time of Matrix submission, occupation cap and demand. The greater the demand for an occupation, the higher the rank of the Matrix score invited. The minimum ranking score is an indication only and not a guarantee that an invitation was issued. Invitations will not be issued if you have an active application in the system; or if you have previously received ACT nomination.

State nomination updates for Tasmania - The next stage of opening of the 2022-23 Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination is currently scheduled for late October 2022. It will extend to all candidates who meet the minimum requirements, including those who do not have a gold or green attribute To avoid confusion the qualifying work period for the gold priority attribute has been changed from three to six months. It remains three months for all other attributes. Offer for graduate employment program. Must be full-time, received prior to graduation, related to your skills assessment or Tasmanian study and be from a medium or large* Tasmanian business that has been operating in Tasmania for more than 5 years. (Paid training program offers, such as income tax training are not eligible)
